The series NACHTS by photographer and bouncer Mischa Fanghaenel portrays a never before seen collection of over 175 personalities from Berlin's techno scene. The multipart series encompasses both immersive photographic and video pieces representing a media extension in Fanghaenel's oeuvre, who, in addition to his work as a photographer, has been working as a bouncer at Berghain for over 10 years.

Amid the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mischa Fanghaenel grappled with the challenging question: 'How can the essence of the scene's experience be documented when their spaces no longer exist?' In his quest for answers, he developed a digital visual language that allowed him to collaborate with renowned figures in the music scene, thereby transforming photography into moving images.

By releasing the portraits as digital artworks, the artist grants his viewers immersive experiences that, inspired by an ecstatic way of life, form an artistic document of contemporary techno culture. The digital artworks are composed by creative artists employing innovative sound-reactive tools and cutting-edge machine learning techniques. In sync with the music's rhythm, Mischa Fanghaenel's portraits disintegrate into constructivist patterns, morph into figurative forms, ultimately converging into comprehensive and awe-inspiring works of art.
